Singapore celebrity magic duo and current world record magic holders for ’15 illusions in 5 minutes, J C Sum & ‘Magic Babe’ Ning have just been awarded 2009 Merlin Awards for ‘Most Original Illusionists 2009′.
The Merlin Award is the most prestigious award in magic from the International Magicians Society, the largest magic organization in the world.
J C & Ning are the first Singapore illusionists to be awarded a Merlin Award and will each receive an award for ‘Most Original Illusionist 2009′ and ‘Most Original Female Illusionist 2009′ respectively.
Unlike a competition award that one wins by performing better than a specific group of magicians on a particular day, the coveted Merlin Award is only presented to magicians who excel in their field based on a proven track record over a period of time.
Past Merlin Award winners include David Copperfield, Criss Angel, Siegfried & Roy and Penn & Teller.
The awards will be presented to J C & Ning in person by Mr Tony Hassini, World President Chairman/ CEO of the International Magicians Society in an exclusive show cum awards presentation in Oct 2009.

Congrats to J C & Ning once again!
They are once again doing Singapore proud by putting us on the world magic map.
Who ever said no magician in Singapore can make a mark at an international level? Their mega shows and this award is helping to break new ground for Singapore magicians and I hope it paves the way for more local magicians to make it big like them.
