The Run Down
Quality:
Prophet’s production quality is without a doubt one of the best I’ve ever seen. Clear visual images with multiple angles of teaching. An artistic and high quality production. Extreme Burn’s production pales much in comparison.
Teaching:
I find Tom Isaacson’s teaching a tad too fast on certain parts of the DVD but ultimately i still understood his teaching. After all, there’s always the replay function. Richard Sander goes through the pain on how to construct the gimmick. He also gave detailed explanations on his 9 different ways to change the bills. Prophet offers more details on the construction phase which will help extensively for those who are not using US currency.
Difficulty:
Extreme Burn’s handling is much easier than Prophet in my personal opinion. Don’t get me wrong, Prophet is not too hard to execute, but will require much more practice in the mirror.
The Changes:
“Prophet”
Snap change is the best change offered by Prophet. All you do is snap your fingers, and the bills change. No cover, no nothing. Awesome, absolutely killer.
One handed change by Prophet is nice, but not nearly as good as the Snap Change. You wrist kill your hand a little, and the bills instantly change.
“Extreme Burn”
Smackdown Change- In this change, Richard show the bills, raises them up and smacks the bills in his hand. They change in that instant. Easy to perform.
Flicker Change- In this change, Richard holds the bills so half of the bills are visible. He then flicks his wrist, and all of the bills change. A in-your-face type of change. Must take into consideration of your angles.
Twister Change- This change seems to take place slowly. Richard shows the bills, and slowly twists them around. As they twist, the bill change. Angle sensitive
Gravity Change- A very quick change that can be done surrounded.
Unfolding Change- One of the weaker changes on the DVD. The bills have to be folded and unfolded (hence the name) for the change to take place. Too much cover and not as visual as the other changes.
Vertical Turnover- This change is the same as the Twister Change but done vertically. It’s very good for stand-up. Angle sensitive
Instant Change- My least favourite change. It requires the bills to be folded, the visual and speed aspects of the change were killed in this change.
Slow Burn- A bonus on this DVD. This change is very slow and you can see the bill change gradually part by part. Will require more practice for this handling.
Underground Change- Here it is. The best change on this DVD. I can’t explain it, the bills just change. No cover no nothing, not knuckle busting. The Extreme Burn gimmick makes this change so much easier. This is similar to the Snap Change offered by Prophet but i feel that this is easier to master and quicker. The change is based on a card changing principle as well. Killer!
Extreme Burn is a 90 minute DVD with 9 incredible changes. Prophet is a 32 minute DVD with 2 changes. The Extreme Burn changes cannot be done with Prophet.
If you’re just after a bill change effect and you’re on a budget, then Prophet is for you.
If you’re lazy just like me and would like to master a bill change effect FAST. Then Extreme Burn is for you. Express Learning would cost you an additional 10 USD though =D.
Conclusively, Extreme Burn is the winner for me anytime. The changes are effective and easy to learn. Both Prophet & Extreme Burn uses a gimmick, it appeals to me that i pick the improved version of the original Patrick Page gimmick.
