F.I.S.M World Championships 2009
Date: 26th till and including 31st July 2009
2009 will be the 24th FISM, hosted by the China Magic Art Society. This event is only held once every three years where the elite magicians represent their countries to compete in this ” Magic Olympics”. There would be ongoing magic conventions and magic dealers available at slightly more affordable prices. The amount of magic products sold are not only great, but also the availability of many exclusive products that you cannot find on your magic shops easily.
The competition is broken down into various magic genres where World Titles are up for grabs. The genres include:

Mentalism
Comedy
Grand Illusions
Manipulation
Invention
Micro-Magic
Close-up Card
Parlour Magic
Most Original Act
The FISM Grand Prix Championship title is the most elusive and desirable title that any magician can achieve. From the various champions of the different magic genres, the winner for the Grand Prix title will be chosen. There has been occasions where more than one Grand Prix champions were born eg. 2006 when Pilou and Rick Merrill won and 2003 when Jason Latimer and Norbert Ferre.
This time FISM has reached Asia and it is now affordable for Singaporeans to travel there to catch it! Who knows it might be a once in a lifetime chance. Be sure not to miss this MAJOR magic event happening next year!
