Needless to say more, his magic to this day has always been revolutionary, entertaining and clean. Even when he performs on stage he needs no complicated large expensive props which audience of today could easily tell that the tricks are all done through total reliance on those huge stage props PLUS a team of front and backstage stooges in cahoot. I personally dislike watching those boring large-prop stage magic.

It is surprising that too many pro magicians are still unaware of the current audience taste (like a frog in the well), and many still spend large amount of time and money performing those nearly outdated heavy-props stage magic bringing with them their heavy props and a large team of stooges around to places just to satisfy their own ego.

I heard of a pastor turned pro magician who will not hesitate spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a prop to boost his own ego, and traveling the world with a large team of his stooges and some of his own family members. His shows were largely sponsored and supported by audience from the network of his faith, thus, helping him lay his path to quick stardom, and not much by his own talent and effort.

Frankly, if his objective is not to serve his own ego through magic, he should better relearn and equip himself with simple close-up/street magic skills like Cyril’s and Lu Chen’s, and saving those much wasted money for the poor.

Another thing is that he knows how to entertain the audience. He sets out to perform the tricks with the audience in mind while some of the magicians tend to forget about that. They get too immersed in their performance but Cyril always has his audience in mind.
